1. In 1882, the town of Barberton, Washington was founded by members of the Nooksack Indian Tribe.

2. On June 8, 1938, the Barberton train depot was officially opened. This was the first train depot in the state of Washington and served as a major hub for travelers, freight, and mail until its closure in 1964.

3. In 1892, the first schoolhouse in Washington State was built in Barberton. It was known as the Little Red Schoolhouse and served over 100 students from kindergarten to eighth grade.

4. On August 6, 1913, President Woodrow Wilson visited Barberton to dedicate a monument for the Native Americans who had once lived in the area. The monument is still standing today and is considered to be a symbol of peace between the Native Americans and settlers.

5. On July 15, 1925, a massive fire broke out in downtown Barberton that destroyed half of the town's businesses and homes. Despite this disaster, the town managed to rebuild itself and continue to thrive until today.
