Green Bluff was first settled in the late 1800s by a group of settlers who started a series of small farms to produce apples, cherries, peaches, and other fruits. The area quickly became known for its abundant orchards and was eventually nicknamed "The Fruit Basket of the Inland Empire". In the early 20th century, the area also became known for its festivals and other celebrations which were attended by thousands of people from across the region.
