Stevens County is situated in the northeastern region of the great state of Washington, USA. It was formed on January 20, 1863, and named after territorial Governor Isaac I. Stevens, who served from 1853 to 1857. The county covers an area of about 2,541 square miles and has a population of around 45,000 residents, as of 2020.
With Colville as its county seat, Stevens County was initially inhabited by several Native American tribes, including the Colville, Spokane, and Kalispel. European settlers, such as David Thompson and other fur traders, began to arrive in the area in the early 1800s.
