Front of the US quarter dollar coin   Washington State Quarter

The Washington state quarter was created in 2007 and it features an image of the state's iconic Mount Rainier. The design for the quarter was created by artists Susan Gamble and Charles L. Vickers. The design includes various symbols and meanings that represent the state of Washington, including:

- The image of Mount Rainier as a symbol of Washington's natural beauty.
- The salmon as a symbol of the state's abundant fisheries and waterways.
- The image of an evergreen tree, which is another symbol of the state's natural beauty and resources.
- The image of an eagle in flight, which symbolizes freedom and the state's commitment to the preservation of wildlife.
- The state motto, "Al-ki," which means "by and by" in the Chinook language.
- The year of statehood, 1889, which is engraved on the coin.

The second Washington State Quarter

The Washington National Park quarter from the America the Beautiful Quarters program was issued in 2021. The quarter features a design of Mount Rainier, a volcano located in the Cascade Range of the state of Washington. The mountain is depicted in the foreground with the reflection of the peak in a lake in the background. The reverse of the coin features a view of the mountain from Reflection Lake in Mount Rainier National Park, with Mount Rainier's summit and the mountain's snow-covered peak visible in the sky. Inscriptions on the reverse include "WASHINGTON", "MOUNT RAINIER", "2021", and "E PLURIBUS UNUM".

Mount Rainier is the highest mountain in Washington and the Cascade Range, and is one of the most iconic peaks in the United States. The mountain is a natural landmark of the Pacific Northwest and is a symbol of Washington's natural beauty. Mount Rainier was designated as a national park in 1899, making it the fifth-oldest national park in the United States. The park is home to diverse wildlife, plants, and scenery and is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

The America the Beautiful Quarters program began in 2010 and celebrates each of the fifty states, five U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia by issuing a unique quarter for each location. The program was created to honor the nation's natural beauty and cultural heritage, and to support the National Park Service. The Washington National Park quarter is the forty-first coin released in the program, and the first coin to feature a design of Mount Rainier National Park.
