Bremerton, Washington was founded in 1891 by a logger named William Bremer. It is the largest city on the Kitsap Peninsula and has a population of over 40,000 people. The city is home to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard which has been in operation since 1891 and is the largest employer in the area. Bremerton is also known for its waterfront parks, scenic views, and several museums. The city has a rich history as it was once home to the Suquamish Indian Tribe and was an important port for the lumber industry in the late 1800s. Fun fact: Bremerton is home to the oldest continuously operating bar in Washington State, The Olympic Tavern, which opened its doors in 1914!
