1. Winlock was first settled in the early 1880s by a group of people looking to establish an agricultural community.
2. The town was officially incorporated in 1890 and named after William Winlock Miller, a surveyor who helped map out the area.
3. Winlock is home to the world's largest egg, which is located outside of the local supermarket. The eight-foot tall structure is made from concrete and was built in 1961.
4. Winlock was once home to a large Native American population, with the Cowlitz Tribe living in the area for centuries before European settlers arrived.
5. In 1888, Winlock became the first town in Washington to build a water system for its citizens, which was powered by a windmill.
6. During World War II, Winlock was home to an emergency airfield used by fighter pilots training at nearby Fort Lewis.
