Historical Event:

The Battle of Four Lakes took place near Dayton, Washington in September 1858. This battle was part of the Yakima Indian War and pitted Col. George Wright's troops against a coalition of Spokane, Palouse, Yakima and other Native American tribes. After three days of fighting and nearly 400 casualties, the U.S. troops were victorious and this victory marked the end of Indian resistance in the region.
