Ridgefield is a small town located in Clark County, Washington. The town was named after the nearby Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge which was established in 1965. The town was founded in the late 1800s and today is home to approximately 5,000 residents. The city is situated on the Columbia River, surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and farmlands. As of 2020, Ridgefield is the fastest-growing city in Clark County.
Ridgefield was part of the treaty with the Chinook Indian Nation in 1851, and settlers began arriving in the area shortly thereafter. A post office was established in 1887 and the town became incorporated as a city in 1909. The Ridgefield area has a rich agricultural history and has long been known for its dairy production and berry farms. Today, the town is home to numerous small businesses, including wineries, breweries, restaurants, and retail stores.
