A fun fact about Auburn, Washington is that it is home to the largest tulip festival in the United States. The annual event takes place in April and features over 300 different varieties of tulips, as well as other activities.

An historical event that took place within Auburn was the Great Fire of 1889. This event destroyed much of downtown Auburn and left many homeless. It was one of the worst disasters in the state's history and led to the city's rebuilding and eventual incorporation in 1891.
