1. Port Ludlow is a village located on the Olympic Peninsula in Jefferson County, Washington. It was named after Captain William Robert Ludlow, who explored the area in 1792.

2. The first settlers arrived in 1851 and were mainly made up of loggers, fishing families, and farmers.

3. In 1962, the village was incorporated as an independent municipality, and its first mayor was elected in 1964.

4. In the 1970s, many of the logging operations in Port Ludlow ceased, leading to a shift from a primarily industrial to a more residential area.

5. Since then, Port Ludlow has become an affluent community known for its marina and recreational activities such as boating, fishing, bird watching and hiking.

6. The Port Ludlow Marina was established in 1969 and is home to over 300 boats, making it the largest on the Olympic Peninsula.

7. The village also hosts a number of annual events such as the Salmon Bake, the Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks Display, and the Annual Community Garage Sale.
