In 1993, Brett moved to Jackson Hole for a job at a local newspaper. Shortly thereafter, he took a position with a real estate firm in the valley that ultimately evolved into a joint marketing and information technology role for the company and its offices around the region. In 2003 and following an acquisition by a national franchise, Brett helped in the day-to-day management of the company and also in the merger and acquisition of franchise offices in Sun Valley, Idaho, and Santa Fe, NM. In 2006, Brett accepted the broker position with another development and supervised a team of licensees who primarily focused on real estate and membership sales in its private golf course community. After three terms on the Teton Board of Realtors (TBOR) MLS Board, Brett was elected 2009 President of the Teton Board of Realtors. He was awarded the 2008 TBOR Realtor of the Year. He is also the past chair of the Wyoming Association of Realtors' Practitioners' Standards committee. Brett is a six-time winner in Buckrails annual poll as one of the "Best Real Estate Agents." Brett received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Lehigh University in 1993. He has two kids, ages 12 and 15, and learned how to bake a wicked banana bread during the pandemic.
