Born in Guatemala, Karla came to the US at the age of 7, and grew up in Bridgeport. Moving to a new country and not knowing the language was a challenge, and she knew at a young age that she wanted to make a better life for herself and her family. After spending many years in the hospitality industry, Karla moved into construction, working alongside the owner of a project management and general contracting company, which ultimately piqued her interest and led her to a career in real estate in 2014. And it was here that she realized she could not only achieve that better life for herself and her family, but for her community as well.
With Karlas unique mix of skills - hospitality, construction, a deep knowledge of the multi-family market, and fluency in both English and Spanish - it is no wonder she is a top seller of 2-4 unit properties in the Chicagoland area. She understands deeply what goes into maintaining and developing a property and has an unparalleled ability to articulate wealth creation opportunities, all of which she uses to advise her many multi-unit owners, sellers and buyers to achieve their financial goals.
Outside of real estate, Karla is an avid supporter of The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Cancer Society. In her (limited!) personal time, she enjoys reading, hiking, cooking and spending as much time as she can with her family. She also happens to make a mean cocktail (thanks to years spent as a mixologist!), something the rest of Moda Group takes advantage of whenever they can.
