My name is Robin Gelfius. I live in Mt. Vernon, IL.

I have an outstanding work ethic, believe wholeheartedly in the REALTOR Code of Ethics, and will work hard for you. My attention will be focused on you and your needs, not you and the opposite party! The buyer and seller each need their own advocate in the buying and selling process. Just as you wouldn't hire an attorney to represent both parties, the same applies to real estate.

A little about me. My son, Cole, is 26 and on active duty in the Air National Guard. He is an Instructor Boom Operator which is air-refueling airplanes. My beautiful daughter Claire, 13, went to heaven to be with Jesus in February 2016.

I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA, but moved frequently. I went to 9 schools in 12 years! After high school, I worked at Disney World until joining the Air Force as a Security Policeman. I also served in the Air National Guard and the Army National Guard.

After the Air Force, I graduated from UNC/Asheville with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. While there, I was an extra in the movie Dirty Dancing! It was a fun experience.

In 1990, I became the Front Office Manager at The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC., and was responsible for all guest relations departments. My focus was on excellent customer service and attention to detail. I also taught computer classes part-time at a community college in Asheville. Teaching is a passion of mine.

After four years at the hotel, I was offered the position of East Coast Customer Service Manager and Traffic Manager for Gerber Baby Foods. To familiarize myself with the trucking end of the business, I enrolled in tractor/trailer driving school and earned my CDL.

In 1996, I married, had two children, and stayed home for 20 years homeschooling both of my children. After my daughter passed away in 2016, I decided to pursue another career. Considering my strengths and personality, I decided on the real estate industry. In June 2018, my real estate partner and I purchased RE/MAX Elite in Mt. Vernon, IL.
