Capps '85, served with the Texas A&M Lettermen's Association for over 26 years as Assistant Athletics Director and Executive Director of the Association. Capps worked closely with current and former student-athletes in achieving their career and academic goals, while strengthening their life-long relationships and engagement with Texas A&M. She retired from Texas A&M Athletics in the spring of 2022.

In her role with the Lettermens Association, Capps led the campaign and construction of the Texas A&M Sports Museum in Kyle Field. She spearheaded efforts to fund, design and construct the Coach Jackie Sherrill Lettermen's Club and was a member of The Aggie Commitment leadership group, tasked with developing and implementing plans and strategies to increase equity and maintain an environment of inclusiveness within Texas A&M Athletics.

Capps was instrumental in engaging and welcoming former players back to campus, honoring them during athletic events as honorary captains, with special features, and with on-field/court presentations. She envisioned and executed the Aggie Legends Game which quickly became a fan and player favorite of the Annual Spring Football Game.

In addition to her role with the Lettermens Association and Athletics, Capps has been a longtime member of The National Letterwinners Association Executive Committee. She was a 2007 Fish Camp namesake, 2022 Texas A&M Hall of Honor Inductee and co-authored the book "What It Means to Be An Aggie along with Rusty Burson. She volunteered the past 26 years as the advisor for one of the oldest female student organizations at Texas A&M, the baseball Diamond Darlings. She has also served as an advisor to Aggie Team 12, a student organization that supports all sports within Aggie Athletics.

Since retirement Capps has taken on the role of Midtown Marketing and Promotions Coordinator with the City of Bryan, helping build strategic partnerships. In addition, Cathy is a licensed real estate agent affiliated with Engel & Volkers of Bryan / College Station.
