Real estate has always been a mark of independence and freedom in this country. Owning property is very important, and for most people, its the biggest financial investment of their lives. Having your own home or investment property provides a sense of pride, and can be an important step towards financial independence. Real estate became an accidental passion for me when I purchased my first apartment building. I realized that a job alone was not enough for retirement and I needed a plan. Raised on a Minnesota farm, Ive always been a do-it-yourselfer, so an active investment like real estate seemed to be a good fit. In 2002, I purchased a 4-unit apartment building in my neighborhood and spent the next 5 years rehabbing. This is not everyones idea of a good time, but for me it became a full time obsession. In 2004, I left corporate marketing to focus full-time on real estate and to help others realize their real estate goals whether it be a home or investment property. Im proud to say that all of my business comes referrals. People like working with me because I take more of an investment approach towards real estate, and Im good at thinking on my feet which comes in useful in difficult transactions. I treat my clients like family, with honesty, and integrity - as if it was my own money being invested. For me, real estate is not a one-time transaction; its the beginning of a long-term relationship based on service and communication. Long after the closing, I remain an advisor to my clients, whether they need referrals for contractors, help refinancing or later selling. Since 2004, Ive sold over 322 properties and over $144 million in sales. My business grows every year which I attribute to working harder, more creatively, and maintaining a positive outlook and a good sense of humor under trying circumstances. In 2015, I started a real estate development firm called Brush Hill Development which builds apartment buildings for non-for-profit groups. Stable housing is a very important element in community stabilization and family success. Helping underserved families is a privilege and I am honored to use my real estate skills to help build safe, stable and affordable housing. Before discovering my passion for real estate, I spent 10 years in advertising and marketing in corporate America. My B.S. is from the University of Minnesotas Carlson School of Management. My specialty areas include the western suburbs of Hinsdale, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, and Wheaton. In Chicago I specialize in the near west and near north side.
