Lloyd listened to my husband and me about what we wanted in a home (Although we had quite a range of what we could be interested in.) and worked to show us homes that met our criteria. When it came time to put in offers, Lloyd focused on ensuring we were comfortable with the amounts we were offering. While we were approved for more expensive homes, I never felt like Lloyd pushed us toward the higher end of the spectrum for the sake of a higher commission. He truly wants people to be happy in their home purchases.
When we became interested in a home that was listed through his office, Lloyd was clear on what the dual agent situation looked like and was open to the idea of us using another realtor if it would make us feel more comfortable. Lloyd is an amazing individual and realtor! We have worked with Lloyd on buying our first house, selling it 5 years later, and buying our second house. Through each process we were happy with the services Lloyd has provided and would recommend him to anyone in the Ames or surrounding area that is looking to buy or sell a home! When we moved back to Ames in 2013, he helped us find our first house and guide us through the whole first-time home owner process. We were not set on staying in Ames yet, so he showed us houses in Story City, Roland, and Cambridge as well. When we did decide on a house, he helped us figure out how to negotiate with the sellers and what is needed when. Five years and two kids later with a third on the way, we decided it was time to move to a bigger home and we sent a bat signal to Lloyd. This time around it was a little easier because we kind of knew which house we wanted, but wanted to be sure so we saw similar houses to compare. The challenge for us this time around though was selling our home. Lloyd and his team worked with us on getting the house ready to sell. After some preparation from everyone we were happy with the results which was 8 showings and 3 offers on the house the first day it was on the market! With having a small family that whole factor of waiting for the house to sell was removed and we were able to move onto the next steps. The only slight negative experience we had with Lloyd which we addressed and know he is continuously working on is just when a family is in the process of both selling and buying that at times it can seem overwhelming. For us it would have been nice for more communication on what to expect each week and who will be visiting to do what just so we as a family can plan on being out of the house or line someone up to watch the kids while we meet with this person. In the end everything worked out and when he asked for our feedback on the whole experience, he was open and willing to improve! In closing we are happy with Lloyd! He will even check in with you from time to time to see if there are any loose ends that need to be dealt with and how he can help. The whole experience of buying a house is a roller coaster and we were glad he was with us helping throughout the whole process.

We have been working with Lloyd since we purchased our first home in 2016. After 2 years in that house and an addition to our family, we made the decision to sell it and move closer to family.
