Ive sold two homes with Joan handling the negotiations: one in 2019 and another in 2023. Going with Ohio Broker Direct has saved me around $30k in fees. Joan is an excellent negotiator and strategist. Both homes sold quickly and were not negatively effected by going with an alternative direct MLS option.
You have to be willing to interact with buyer agents when scheduling showings, hire your own photographer (Joan provides contacts to choose from) and possibly host your own open houses. I view it as an apprenticeship in some regards. Joan tells you what to say and who to talk to if you have a question, but leaves room for you to take the lead.
