Doug has the expertise, but he just wasn't there for us when the buyers started making unreasonable demands. Their last demand was submitted well after the inspection response deadline had passed and was for a cosmetic issue rather than a safety or structure issue, but Doug was going to let them get away with it. He also cost us money by taking us on as clients during a time when his health interfered with his ability to perform in a timely manner.

Doug is a friendly and knowledgeable realtor with whom we had worked in the past, prior to this experience. We liked him then, which is why we hired him again. However . . . unfortunately, this time we found his representation of us quite lacking, as he seemed more on the side of the buyer, who was making one unreasonable demand after the other -- culminating in an out-of-contract consmetic repair -- than of us. The buyer was a university professor, which may have been the reason for the preferential treatment. Another issue is that Doug's health issues created quite a few costly delays for us. Under the circumstances, I don't think he should have signed a contract with us, but rather, referred us to a colleague.
