My husband and I began our home buying journey in the summer of 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, in the middle of lockdown. We are first-time homebuyers and I had done some research as to where we wanted to live and happned upon a realtor. We made plans to meet up with her the following day and she never showed up. We were upset, but not discouraged, so we went back to the drawing boards and began our search for someone else to guide us and happened upon another person promising us the sun and the moon. Weeks into the house hunting journey we realized we were doing ALL of the work and she would not even as much reach out to us to check in. At this point, my husband is starting to get frustrated and I am starting to worry we are never going to find anyone to help us. Fast forward to a late-night deep-dive online reading up on realtors in the Morris/Sussex County area (where we were looking) and I come across this couple, Nicole and Adam. I read their biography, their reviews, and I take a chance and send my sob story to them in hopes that MAYBE, just MAYBE third time's the charm. Oh my goodness was it ever. Nicole sent me back the most heartfelt response telling me that not everyone in the business is like the previous people we have encountered and that her and her husband would be delighted to help us find our forever home. I was of course a little nervous, as I had been promised the same in the past and had been delivered next to nothing...but I had a gut feeling this was different. Within the next day or two I had an email from Nicole with a BUNCH of homes that fit the criteria I had told her we were looking for and within the next few days we had set up a showing at a house. We QUICKLY learned that pictures are MUCH different than going and walking into a house but throughout every house we were interested in, and walked through, they were there with us, guiding us and giving us their honest opinion. We found a house we LOVED and thought we found our forever home. Upon inspection we discovered things that were deal-breakers and we ended up back at square one. My husband and I took turns spiraling in and out of "we will NEVER find a house" but Nicole and Adam did not let us give up and even more importantly did not give up looking for our home. We ended up finding a cute little house a couple months later...by that point we were seasoned pros because Adam and Nicole had prepared and trained us so well that the entire closing process was CAKE. On December 29th we closed on, and spent the night in our first home and I cannot even begin to express the gratitude felt for these amazing human beings. Buying a house is exciting, stressful, chaotic, a complete rollercoaster and I KNOW for a fact that we would NOT have made it to the finish line without Nicole and Adam. Nicole and Adam Haslett were an AMAZING team to work with!! As first-time home buyers, we were unsure about the process and all that was going to go into finding a house. We were given their contact information from a previous client of theirs and decided to give them a call just for information purposes. Little did we know Nicole would spend the next half hour on the phone with us simply walking us through what the process would be. At this point we werent even ready to start looking but she took the time to do that anyway. Right away we knew there was no one else wed rather trust to help us than The Haslett Team.
When we decided it was the right time to start the process of looking, Nicole and Adam sat down with us for over an hour again walking us through what we should expect. They even gave us an awesome binder will all the information we had talked about so we could reference it when needed. Throughout the entire process Nicole and Adam were never anything more than a text away and we knew they truly cared about helping us find the right house. I reached out to Nicole and Adam when I was considering selling my home. They gave me great advice on areas to focus on in my home to get a better resale. Months later, I listed with them and my house had an offer on it the next day! I got my full asking price and I couldn't have been happier!
