As a first time home buyer I thought I had done all my research and my choice of real estate agent didnt matter. Boy was I wrong - there is nothing like working with an expert. Kari was able to set my expectations, help me through the negotiating process, help call out issues I wouldnt have seen coming, and was always a couple of steps ahead of me. Kari was a true professional as we looked for our first house. She was in close communication with us before we were ready to find our home so she knew what we were looking for. While looking at several homes with her, she remembered what we wanted, and helped us see other features that we may have not noticed. Once we chose the home we wanted, she was on top of all of the moving pieces, and reached out to a variety of venders to make sure our closing happened on time (actually early!). We could not be more pleased with the service Kari provided and her open lines of communication. No question was too big or too small for her. We felt supported through our whole process. I had a rough start to my home search. After naively contacting a few properties listed for sale online, I initially fell into the hands of a realtor that was not so great -- and appeared more interested in making a commission than prioritizing my needs. Realizing that I had made the wrong choice in a realtor, I went back to the drawing board and started asking friends for recommendations. After talking to a close friend, Kari Lichmans name came up as a potential option.
I reached out to Kari and received a quick follow-up email, and then a phone call to schedule an in-person consultation. Walking in to meet Kari later that week, I knew within the first 10 minutes of our conversation that she was the right realtor for me. During our 1-hour consultation, I made more strides in understanding the type of home that I needed than my entire year of prior research. Kari worked diligently to find and show me several properties during the first couple weeks, and was patient as I refined my search criteria. The day that a home appeared that I was interested in, Kari went above and beyond to put together a well-researched, strong offer that the seller quickly accepted. Over the next month, Kari did an amazing job of coordinating the home inspection, termite inspection, following up with the lender, coordinating with the title company, checking the closing disclosure for errors, and in general, just helping me understand where we were in the process. Her organization through the entire process was incredibly helpful!
With all of this said, I sincerely enjoyed working with Kari Lichman, and will definitely reach out to her if/when I buy my next house! 2019
TL;DR - 5 out of 5 stars - If you want to buy a house, get Kari Lichman. She is professional, loyal and a good real estate agent. Long version - Im sitting in my new house (that Kari helped me find) writing this review. A little background about my situation; I was new to the Austin area and coming from out of state; I was a first time home buyer; I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for, but was unsure on a few of the details. As I mentioned, Id never been to Austin before, but Id heard many good things from many people I trust. I arranged to be in town for a week to look at the area along with properties, and this is where Kari came in. Not only did she clear her mornings (from 10am-2pm) for the entire week, but she also chauffeured me around. This allowed me to see the area while she tour guided me from property to property - and she showed me a lot of properties (5+ homes per day). As we looked through all the properties, Kari expertly helped hone my expectations into exactly what I was looking for. Kari contributed a great amount of insight into features that would help resell the house (should I choose to in the future). In the end, I had a list of top three choices and I made my offer. Like most home purchases, there were issues (which I wont get into). But throughout the entire process, I always felt that; Kari was 100% on my side; and she was trying to get me into the house, not because she wanted to make a sale, but because it was the house I wanted. Kari was a consummate professional; she often went above and beyond and is, in general, a good, honest individual. Even after the house closed, Kari still remains a lifeline for me on general starting a household things. I could continue on with glowing praise, but Ill end it here. In short, I give Kari 5 out of 5 stars. I will seek her out the next time I want to buy a property and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy a house. Thanks again, Kari! 2018
Wow! I must say, The Lichman Group made the entire process a complete breeze. I couldn't have imagined what it would have been without their knowledge and experience that they both generate. From the initial meeting up until closing, they continually were ahead of the game and made sure I was always fully informed. Jason was great to work with in the sale of my home; it went over asking price in less than two weeks. Now I'm in the process of working with Kari in search of a new home and it has been flawless.
