I worked with Jeff Byrd in February, 2021 in buying a home in Tryon. He made sure that I was welcomed into the community, by speaking personally to the real estate attorney, the contractor, the folks who inspected the well, the septic, and the generator. He interpreted the symbols on the survey and gave me advice on equestrian trail easement issues and numerous contacts and information about the hunt club, the arts and culture in the community, and land conservation. Because everyone knows Jeff, having been editor of the Tryon newspaper and on the boards of multiple civic organizations, he was able to fill me in on the rich history of the area around my home, and the history of the house itself.
He walked the property in order to point out where the property line ended, and figured out if I could grade an area for a dressage arena. He sent me all the phone numbers for service providers, and sent me reminders when I should activate them. He even brought clients by to see if they wanted to temporarily rent the guest house. Jeff offered to help look for a live in caretaker for the barn and horses.
Jeff is a lot of fun to talk to, given his knowledge of the community. He really wants to match the right person to the right house. I am so happy.
