I met Maria briefly at an open house. And in those brief moments she judged my family and I based on appearance and ethnicity, I immediately felt discriminated while she quickly asked how much money my husband and i make and how much money was in our savings account. In those brief moments she told us we could not afford a house of this caliber and furthermore said you're welcome to see the house even though you cant afford it, in other words. This home was listed for nearly a million and I actually told her right after she told us the price, that this home was out of our budget. Regardless, being a home owner of 2 properties, we know that these are the type of questions a lender asks in the privacy of an office not for a realtor to ask in the middle of a open house open to the public. We walked out feeling attacked and unwelcome by her attitude towards my husband, children and myself. We weren't able to see an open house that was supposed to be open for ANYONE interested in purchasing. She continued to blame the seller about only allowing serious buyers in to his home even though the seller was not there. Terrible experience.
