As a first-time homebuyer, I had no intricate knowledge of the process whatsoever. I first voiced my interest in a property online, and I soon had consultations lined up with multiple agencies. Buying a home is a complex and expensive process. Despite that, what I am most grateful for was they never pushed me into something I wasn't comfortable spending money on. Any service that I decided not to pursue was not pushed on me further. Once I said "no, thank you" that was the end of it. I was looking to move to the Sacramento area to stay near family. I was looking at several towns rather distant from each other, namely Woodland, Elk Grove, and Rancho Cordova. Potentially, I would expand my search area to Roseville. Originally, I was looking at new construction, but changed my mind, so I started looking for a realtor. I quickly settled on the Parm Atwal team, as they cover a huge geographic area in fact, an area far larger than what I was looking at. I didnt see any other agencies covering such an area. I gave them a call on Saturday, September 18th and they quickly slotted a Zoom call for me the next day.

As a first-time homebuyer, I didnt really know much about the process, and she took the time to explain what I was in for. She also carefully answered all my questions. Before speaking to her, I was half nervous and half excited, but after our initial conversation, I couldnt wait to get started.
Even though I did not set her up for success, it was clear she listened and understood every word I said, because even the first houses to show up on the portal were close to what I was after. The recommendations got uncannily good after a day or two of me accepting and rejecting homes. Fast forward to Saturday, October 2nd. Lindsey put together a tour of homes in Woodland and Rancho Cordova. She took the time to arrange an itinerary that minimized the hassle of travel. Even then, a house canceled on me that day, but she rolled with it and so I was able to visit a different house instead, so I did not waste any time at all.
Throughout the tour, she continued to educate me about the homebuying process, the various cities and neighborhoods in the Sacramento area, things I should pay attention to while touring homes all the while paying attention to my likes and dislikes. The next day, we toured a few homes in Elk Grove. I appreciated that visit, because I had been to Woodland and Rancho Cordova before, but never Elk Grove.
Anyway, after touring the last house on Sunday, she asked me to review with her how I felt about the tour to prepare for next time. I expressed that there was a house in Woodland I liked above all the others, but I was skeptical about my chances, given that it was at the upper end of my price range and that the market was still warm. She advised me that while it is prudent to not get my hopes too high, giving up wasnt appropriate either. After she spoke with the listing agent, she advised me to make an offer and see what happened. That evening, she called me to let me know that my offer had been accepted!
While there were some bumps along the way (100% due to the lender I chose), Lindsey and the Parm Atwal team were there for me the entire time. Buying a dream home is obviously a huge new chapter in my life, and it wouldnt have been possible without their help. Im sure that for them, its just what they do. I just want to call out again that I was looking for a home in cities that were quite far apart, and I was concerned this would be too much of a hassle. Not true. We hit up all my desired cities in a weekend, and Lindsey was so spot-on with her search that it only took me coming up to Sacramento once to find the home I wound end up buying.

Being a first-time home buyer amidst a pandemic was definitely nerve-wracking. Parm and Jose were so helpful, patient, and informative. They answered all of my questions, were honest about the condition of homes we saw, and were always SO willing to make themselves available when I needed. I ended up going with a new construction home, and these lots/homes were going extrememly quickly, Jose was able to talk with the sales rep and get her to "hold" the lot that we were interested in while I waited for my mom to be able to come look at it as well. My wife and I worked with Parm and Lynn for about two months before we found our new home. During our first meeting, Parm created a private portal for us that showed us homes that met the criteria we were looking for (location, price, sq footage, etc).
