Lori Mickelson came highly recommended by several of our colleagues, and so when it came to finding our first house she was the first person we reached out to. She was responsive and we ended up having our first conversation on the phone late one Sunday evening, within 24 hours of our initial contact. As a working couple her willingness to work with our schedule was key.
We met with Lori in person and outlined our likes and dislikes. The prospect of a first home was rather daunting. She was realistic and provided us with much needed feedback and encouragement. She clearly knows the Rochester housing market like the back of her hand. After setting up our profiles in the Re/Max system we began getting emails with new listings. We decided to do some renovations and she had recommendations in every industry, from carpeting to painting to plumbing. Everyone knows Lori and she helped us coordinate the renovation, helped manage the contractors, etc. She arranged quotes before we took ownership and as such renovations were done within a few weeks, allowing us to move in within a month of closing. Speaking of closing, Lori helped guide us through this process too.

Lori is amazing. I had previously worked with a different realtor in another state to buy a house, and Lori was so far ahead of my prior experience it was unbelievable. Lori was the realtor for the purchase of our 8th house, so obviously we have dealt with many realtors over the years. In most cases, that involved long-distance communications as we were relocating to different parts of the country. Those are the trickiest moves because you are not physically present to oversee the details that arise during the closing period. Our most recent move was another long-distance relocation, and I can say that Lori exceeded our expectations BY FAR. Her help both before and after the purchase was not limited to matters that involved the real estate transaction but included everything surrounding the house purchase and our move. For example, she figured out a creative way to help us get the home interior painted prior to closing and managed that process. Having worked in Rochester real estate for decades, she has an encyclopedic knowledge of the city and its housing market as well as reliable and reasonably priced contractors. My wife and I are a senior couple that had just gotten married. We needed to sell my wife's townhouse so we could buy a more suitable home for the two of us. We contacted Lori Michelson to sell the townhouse and find us a new home. Lori immediately came with an assistant to inspect the townhouse. She made several inexpensive suggestions on how to improve its appearance and said she would send a photographer over to take photos. He arrived the next day and took a set of excellent photos. After the home inspection by Lori and with the photos, she made up an impressive booklet describing the townhouse and provided copies for showings. Lori also asked us for a description of our dream house that we intended to buy. We told her what we desired. Her agency has a impressive system that sends an email to notify you that a house has become available that meets your requirements. That is how we found our new house.
