My wife and I happened upon Caroline separately and weeks apart. We are retired and wanted out of California where we were both born and had lived all our lives. We gradually narrowed our choices onto the 395 corridor from Carson City south. There are dozens if not hundreds of realtors in the region, but we both chanced upon her independently. It was meant to be. I had started my search over five western states, excluding only the left coast and Colorado. This and that consideration excluded states and swaths of states until we realized that the Carson City area was right for us. I had been doing a lot of homework and finding a lot of properties on the realty apps. I sent Caroline a list of ten, and a description of what we were looking for. She responded with even more possibilities and an invitation to come up and look around. We did so, and spent a full day driving around looking at properties. We spent parts of several subsequent days looking at the likeliest and eventually settled on our new home. The negotiations began, and Carolines advice and counsel was invaluable throughout. The house is partially a fixer, and she was helping us line up multiple contractors to choose from as soon as escrow opened. She continued to help after close of escrow. I had contacted a few local realtors in an attempt to get an idea of the value of my vacant land property in Lyon County and to list it for sale. As this was just a small parcel of vacant land, they were not interested in assisting or even really speaking with me.
