Derek was our real estate agent during our search for a condo in southern Florida. We live well outside on the Florida area and, therefore, faced the dauting task of long-distance house hunting in an area we had only visited occasionally but having Derek on our side made it all possible! Derek started by setting up an initial call with my wife & me to fully understand our interests, requirements, and preferences for our condo purchase. It was during this call that we were immediately impressed with Dereks professionalism, knowledge of the local real estate market, and amiable personality. Derek then went to work emailing us daily links to properties in the Palm Beach County area that met our requirements and even went the extra mile to inquire about items not always available from a listing (e.g., pet policies, condo rules & regulations, neighborhood details). After compiling a list of a dozen promising properties, Derek worked closely with my wife & me over a period of several months to schedule virtual tours of several condos in Palm Beach County. For each of these virtual appointments, Derek would research & review the key features of the property and provide a detailed virtual tour of each of the rooms in the property as well as the condo common areas and beach access points. These tours proceeded smoothly thanks to Dereks tech-savviness, and we greatly appreciated Dereks candid comments on the features & liabilities of each of the properties as it helped us refine our wish list for our new home. With Dereks continued guidance, we were able to cull our list of favorite properties to our top 10 and we scheduled a trip to the Palm Beach area to view the properties. Once again, Derek made the process easy for us, quickly scheduling on-site tours across multiple areas of Palm Beach County and even recommending hotels that would allow us to more readily explore the neighborhoods & communities we were hoping to join. As a result of Dereks detailed planning, our on-site tours were efficient & informative and included extra time to explore the neighborhoods including local shops, restaurants & beaches. After several days of condo tours, Derek invited us to relax at a casual lunch to discuss our thoughts on each of the properties and help us work through the pros & cons of each. Importantly, we never felt pressured by Derek at any time during our condo search he wanted us to find our perfect match and was respectful of our decision process.
Ultimately, we did decide to make an offer on one of the condos we toured on our trip and Derek assisted us every step of the way in this process. He first helped us negotiate an offer based on a careful analysis of comparative sales in the condo complex and neighboring areas. Derek then worked tenaciously with the opposing broker to explain our offer based on his considerable knowledge of the local real estate market and ensured appropriate contingencies were in place in our offer letter. Once our offer was accepted, Derek went to work assisting us with contacting a local real estate inspector and made multiple trips to the property to ensure we had all of the information we needed to complete the transaction. Derek even created Google calendar appointments to ensure that we kept abreast of the various deadlines associated with the process. Derek went above & beyond at each step of our house hunting process & displayed the attention to detail that is critical to a successful real estate search. Having purchased several homes over the years and worked with multiple real estate agents, my wife and both agree that Dereks real estate prowess is second to none. Derek is hands down the best in the business in our opinion and if we decide to move or purchase another home, Derek will be our first call.
