I reached out about the property as my husband and I are relocating for a job has taken on the west coast. We submitted an inquiry and Helen responded quickly, however she was less than professional. We are 3000 mi away and requested a virtual tour, which she stated that "I am not a photographer". When I explained that the photos were not complete as they only show the master, she seemed like she started to understand as this is a 24mo rental, you have to make sure it fits the families needs. I stated that other listing usually show the full house, she immediately turned snooty and told me "Well I am showing on Saturday, and we have 5 applications already so I will probably lease without you" Who says that? First we are looking for a short term solution in which if we love the community would come back to the agent to find a house for us to purchase. We would not use her as she wants to take the easy route for her commision. Zero empathy or want to learn about the clients needs and reasons. 2021

At last minute notice, Helen Whang woke up early after flying in late to the airport from out of the country in order to look at a home for us, draw up an offer, and submit it to the seller agent in time for their proposed deadline. She provided excellent judgement and guidance when negotiating an offer and counteroffer to the seller. Helen went above and beyond to make sure that the house was structurally sound and did her own research to dig up hard to find remodeling permits that provided that peace of mind. She found us a good inspector at short notice and accommodated us when we flew in from Hawaii when we were in escrow. She ensured everything went smoothly, and communicated clearly with us throughout the process, which resulted in a fast closing without so much as a hiccup.
Helen Whang was professional, communicative, quickly responsive, and kind and generous throughout the entire process. After closing, she went to pick up the keys for us since we were still in Hawaii, and stopped to talk to our new neighbors so that she could tell us about how nice the neighborhood seems and to really make us feel even more excited to move in to our dream home. On multiple occasions she pointed out characteristics about the home and location that we didnt notice at first and helped us to be even more confident that we picked the right home. She also followed up afterwards to help us figure out and plan what we needed to do in order to transition from Hawaii to California, such as light remodeling projects and setting up utilities.
We have previously been through the buying process twice in Hawaii with two different realtors, as well as the selling process. From prior experiences, we were under the impression that a realtor primarily handled all the paperwork and showings. Our experience with Helen Whang changed our perception and we realized it is so much more than that. She has certain type of skill that a person cannot just learn easily. My sister-in-law and brother described it as her magic. She truly acted in our absolute best interest, guiding us and keeping us in the loop the whole way to ensure that we ended up happy and secure with our final decision. This was especially challenging given the fact that we were shopping for a home from out-of-state. Now we truly understand how important it is to find a great realtor.
