A year into renting in Santa Cruz, we decided we'd brave the city/county's ultra competitive housing market, hoping to find a cozy and decently affordable home for the two of us and a young child. As first time home buyers, and as people who appreciate being able to think through our options from all angles, not just financial ones, we were delighted that we managed to find our way to working with Christine Schneider. Christine is a special broker. She is genuinely concerned to find the best situation for her clients. Sometimes this means offering honest opinions and perspectives on places that ultimately present more minuses than pluses, even if they could be a quick sale. Other times Christine's concern for her clients' thriving translates into thinking through an attractive situation with a healthy mix of enthusiasm and pragmatism. Importantly, Christine always brings a wealth of local knowledge to any potential purchase.
Not surprisingly, finding our way into escrow was difficult -- we made some offers on some charming homes, but other potential buyers put forward much sweeter terms than we could muster. Christine's support didn't flag. She remained encouraging, even when we decided to step away from trying to buy a home for a while, saying that it can be a long process, and she was sure we would find our way to the home that was best for us. A month or so later, that home popped up. With the help of her great team, including the wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable agent Talia Chopra, we moved from offer to escrow to purchase. We felt fortunate. It was a special feeling when Christine drove up to give us the keys. Reflecting their overall character and style, Schneider Estates donated 1% of the commission to a local organization of our choosing, which was the great Pie Ranch.

This is our second experience with Christine Schneider. Both times we have been extremely pleased with her knowledge and skills. She communicates well and completely. We have complete trust and confidence in her. She cares deeply about making the deal a good fit for the benefit of buyer and seller. nAs this property was a fixer upper, Christine suggested that we only clean it up and not start any remodeling. Evidently that was good advice as it sold for full price before it was formally on the market right after the Coming Soon' sign went up. nI would call her again and would happily recommend her to my friends and family.

This is our second sale using Christine' services. I am once again impressed by her responsiveness. She has her finger on the pulse of the market as well as on the goals and values of her clients. nIN this case, the property sold before we even went public, full price, mostly all cash.... just from putting the sign up as Coming Soon , obviously a good move on our Broker's part. nThe advice to do inspections prior to the sale sure made for an easy deal, as the buyer know what they were getting and the inspection period brought no surprises. nThe advice to clean the property, though not remodel it, (it was a fixer-upper): This worked for us as we got the price we wanted with peace of mind - and no anxiety or worry about spending too much. nMutual trust, confidence and good will between us and Schneider Estates established a good foundation for good real estate transactions. Christine's office cares deeply for the good of the client - and also honors sound values so that everyone gets a fair deal. I couldn't be happier. If we have occasion to sell or buy in the area again, we will definitely contact Christine Schneider's office.
