We were recommended Steve when our realtor backed out due to her unfamiliarity with the area we were purchasing. While Steve is knowledgeable with old homes and with the area, there were many other shortcomings which lead us to not recommend him. First off, he was late to every appointment. He had an excuse each time, but when someone is late every. single. time. the excuses don't mean much. This tells me he that either his client is not important enough, or he does not respect his client enough to be on time. We also had tremendous difficulty getting him to respond to our questions or concerns, and each time it took him a relatively long time to respond he had....an excuse. Most upsettingly, he NEVER responded to nor got in contact with our lender. I also felt like he was constantly mansplaining and talking down to me because I am a woman. We told him from the beginning that one of the most important things we were looking for in a realtor was responsiveness, and stated if he couldn't attend to our needs to pass us off to someone that can. He assured us that wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Both my lender (who was fantastic) and the SELLER's realtor (also fantastic) did all the work, provided information, responded directly to us and discussed the process when Steve was MIA. The ONLY reason I continued with the sale of the house was because of the lender and selling agent. During the negotiations for the house, he made several recommendations about our offer. Some of these we took, and others we ignored. The suggestions he made which we ignored would have resulted in a worse deal for us, which made us question the usefulness of the suggestions we did take. Unfortunately, we had already seen the house with our previous realtor and were ready to make an offer when she stepped aside, so we had no choice but to go forward with using Steve as we did not run into these problems beforehand. Due to these circumstances, we'd already made our offer before the problems became clear, so he ended up making his commission and did very, little work for it. In short, Steve is knowledgeable about houses and the New Hampshire area, but severely lacking in customer service and questionable when it comes to negotiations. I would absolutely not recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a house.
i can not say enough great things about steve ,i knew nothing of home buying not only did he walk me through every step, steve answered my calls day and night and was patient with all my questions and doubts ,,steve was also there when i became frustrated and wanted to just give up, but steve didnt give up on me and steve got me a better deal on my home than i could ever believe and because of steve my family now owns our dream home.
