A fun and verifiable fact about Wallingford, Connecticut is that it was once home to the world-famous Silverman's Farm, which had the largest collection of rare and exotic birds in New England. It also had a petting zoo with various animals, and an apple orchard and farm market. Unfortunately, the farm closed in 2016 after 95 years of serving the community.
