Matherville is a small village located in Rock Island County, Illinois, with a population of around 800 people. It was incorporated in 1894, and named after its founder, Nathaniel Mathers. The village is mostly residential in nature, with a few local businesses and community organizations. It is home to Matherville Intermediate School, which serves students in grades 4-6. One of the most notable annual events in Matherville is the Independence Day Celebration, which includes a parade, carnival rides, live music, and fireworks display.
