Tonica is a small village in LaSalle County, Illinois, with a population of approximately 700 people. It was first settled in 1829 and named after a local Native American chief named Antoine (Tonica). One of the main attractions of the village is the historic Tonica Railroad Depot, which was built in 1894 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The town is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and is known for its peaceful and rural atmosphere.
