Maryland City is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is considered one of the largest communities in the county with a population of approximately 18,000 people.

The city is situated approximately 8 miles north of the city of Laurel and around 20 miles southwest of Baltimore, making it a convenient location for commuters. The area is renowned for its parks and open spaces, with the Patuxent Research Refuge and the National Wildlife Visitor Center located nearby.

The community was originally established in the 1960s as a commuter town, however, since then it has grown with the addition of several large-scale housing developments. The city is also home to a wide variety of retail stores, restaurants, and community facilities.
