I am best at and known for my negotiation skills, making smooth transactions for my clients, attention to detail, and my communication. I also have what I believe to be an unparalleled level of real estate experience here in the West Michigan area.
I grew up in real estate and my folks had many businesses- including nursing homes, grocery stores, apartment buildings, commercial storefronts, single-family rentals, a vacation resort, and more. I grew up painting apartments and helping Mom run errands like copies. I can still remember the smell of the copy shop. I went door to door handing out their advertising. All of their businesses centered around one thing real estate. Being immersed in real estate gave me a real foundation for what the business entailed and a huge head start in the industry I now love. I can remember talking about land contracts with other agents when I was in high school!
I bought my first home (a fixer-upper duplex) when I was 20 years old and later developed a real estate investment business where I flipped houses (long before TV made it cool) and provided consulting services to real estate investors and professionals across the country. I also have been certified by the State of Michigan to provide continuing education to real estate agents. I teach other professionals how its done. I served in numerous capacities in various organizations that represent the real estate industry. Some of them include the board of directors for the Real Estate Investors Association of Michigan and Rental Property Owners Association where I was elected and re-elected, Vice President, and Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee; Michigan Real Estate Investors Association of Michigan and Rental Property Owners Association of Michigan where I was appointed and served as Treasurer.
My firms and I have bought and sold (i.e. flipped) countless homes throughout West Michigan over the past 20+ years. I have developed strategies and systems that work.
