Jeff began his real estate career in the fall of 2006. A longtime member of the Union County community, Jeff grew up in the valley and graduated from La Grande High in 1999.
In 2003 he graduated from Oregon State University (Corvallis) with a BS in Psychology. Later that year, he embarked on a two year adventure as a volunteer with the United States Peace Corps. He lived in a small mountain village called Ain Bechar in the north eastern range of the Middle Atlas in Morocco.
Upon return in 2006, Jeff chose to continue the family business by forming a partnership with his mother Brenda Jackson, a long time realtor in Union County. Jeff became a multimillion dollar producer within six months of licensing and has continued to be a Top Producer in the area since. His business focus is on client communication, application of market leading real estate technology and continued real estate education.
Jeff has specialized in residential sales for many years. He has sold inventory across the price ranges and in numerous towns and locations in the valley. He is an active "stager" of homes for his clients. Jeff owns investment property and understands what it takes to make it pencil out. He also enjoys working on large acreage properties and has experience in marketing and selling farms and ranches. He has taken time to learn about water rights, soil qualities of the area, climate, basic cattle husbandry and crop sciences. He is always ready and willing to learn more to better serve his clients. Jeff has continued to get his foot in the door with La Grande and Union County commercial property. He has sold numerous commercial properties and has began to develop experience in much larger commercial properties, such as recent (2015) analyses of a 12,000 sf multi-business complex and a 50,000 sf warehouse and shipping complex in the valley.
In his spare time, Jeff loves being with his wife and son on their 10 acre farm. He enjoys the outdoors and spends as much time as he can in the mountains hiking and camping with his family and friends. Additional hobbies include making music with local musicians, hosting concerts in his barn, volunteering with local groups, hiking and swimming, practicing foreign languages, traveling, gardening, horsemanship and working on projects out on the farm.
Jeff is a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI), an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and is in the process of securing his CRS designation.
Jeff is one of the six founding Brokers of John J Howard & Associates Real Estate, formed in 2007. A full service brokerage based on service, communication, teamwork and leading technology.
Jeff received his Principal Broker's License in 2010. Jeff was voted President of the Union County Board of Realtors in 2014 and will continue serving thru 2016.
