Lewisville, Texas is a city located in the northern suburbs of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It is the 33rd most populous city in Texas with an estimated population of 106,621 in 2019. The city was founded in 1925 and incorporated in 1925. It was named after the town's first postmaster, Lewisville Morris. The city is home to several parks, lakes, and trails, including Lewisville Lake, Lake Park, and Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area. It is also home to several major employers such as JPMorgan Chase, Frito-Lay, and Amazon. The city is served by the Lewisville Independent School District and has several higher education institutions nearby, including the University of North Texas at Dallas and Texas Woman's University.
