Pasadena is a city in the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area of Texas. It is the second largest city in Harris County and the 17th largest city in the state of Texas. The city was founded in 1893 and incorporated in 1928. Pasadena is known for its strong industrial base, which includes oil refining, petrochemical production, and aerospace technology. The city is also home to the Pasadena Independent School District, which serves over 70,000 students. The city is also home to the University of Houston-Clear Lake, San Jacinto College, and the University of St. Thomas.
