George, Washington is named after the first president of the United States, George Washington. It was established in 1888 and was the first county seat of Grant County. The village is located at the intersection of US Highway 395 and SR 28 and was once home to a large cherry orchard. Today, it is known for its annual Cherry Festival which celebrates the orchard's history.
