1. Graham was originally named "Custer" and was first established in 1879 by homesteaders and railroad workers.

2. In 1889, the town was renamed to Graham in honor of the first postmaster's father, James Graham.

3. In 1907, the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad (now the Burlington Northern Santa Fe) built a rail line through Graham, connecting it to Tacoma.

4. In 1923, the Graham Fire Department was established.

5. In 1941, the Graham Public Library opened its doors in the former Masonic Hall.

6. In 1956, the Graham Community Center opened to serve as a multi-purpose meeting place for local organizations and community events.

7. The Graham Historical Museum was opened in 1967 as a repository for local artifacts and memorabilia from the city's history.

8. The City of Graham incorporated in 2004 after a successful petition drive for incorporation signed by more than 1,000 residents of the area.
