Medical Lake has a long history of being a healing destination. The lake and the area around it were once home to the Spokane Tribe, who believed the lake had healing powers and used it to treat illnesses. In 1888, the town was officially established by Dr. E.J. McClintock, who named it after the lake because of its healing properties. Today, Medical Lake is known for its peaceful atmosphere and abundance of outdoor activities including fishing, boating, swimming, camping, and hiking. Fun fact: Medical Lake is home to the oldest continuously operating drive-in movie theater in the state of Washington - the Airway Drive-In!
