Parkwood is a small town located in Pierce County, Washington. It was founded in 1906 by a group of settlers who had previously lived in the nearby town of Puyallup. The town was named after the nearby Parkwood Golf Course, which was opened in 1905. Today, Parkwood is a quiet community of about 1,000 residents who enjoy its rural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. The town is home to several parks and recreation areas, including the popular Parkwood Golf Course. Historic sites in the area include the Parkwood Pioneer Cemetery, the Parkwood Museum and the Parkwood Historical Society.
