1. Shoreline was originally part of King County before it was incorporated in 1995.

2. The city was named after the Shoreline School District, which was established in 1901.

3. Prior to its incorporation, the area that is now Shoreline was largely rural with small farms and a few residential areas.

4. The first post office in the area was established in 1901 and was known as Inglewood.

5. The city of Shoreline officially became incorporated on August 31, 1995, making it one of the newest cities in Washington State.

6. In 2009, Shoreline officially became a designated "City of Character" due to its commitment to promoting positive values throughout its community.
