-The city of Wenatchee is located in north-central Washington, on the banks of the Columbia River.

Historical Event:
-In 2008, Wenatchee was the site of a large wildfire that burned over 30,000 acres. The fire was started by an illegal campfire and forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes. The fire fighting efforts were aided by helicopters and airplanes that dropped over 2 million gallons of water and fire retardant over the course of two weeks.
