Paradise is a town in Butte County, California, United States, located in the Sierra Nevada foothills above the northeastern Sacramento Valley. The town is approximately ten miles east of Chico and ninety miles north of Sacramento. It has a population of around 26,000 people and was incorporated in 1979. The town is known for its beautiful natural scenery, including the Feather River Canyon, and is a popular destination for outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping. However, in 2018, the town was devastated by the deadly Camp Fire, which destroyed most of the town and claimed many lives.
