La Junta is home to the Koshare Indian Museum, which houses an extensive collection of Native American artifacts and artwork. The museum also houses a dance troupe called the Koshare Indian Dancers, made up of local Boy Scouts, who perform traditional Native American dances and have been recognized as one of the premier Native American dance troupes in the United States.
