Polk City is a small city located in north-central Iowa, approximately 20 miles north of Des Moines. The city spans an area of roughly 10 square miles and has a population of around 4,000 people.

One of the main attractions in Polk City is Saylorville Lake, a large reservoir that covers more than 5,300 acres and offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and camping. There are also several parks in the area, including Big Creek State Park and the Neil Smith Wildlife Refuge.

The city is known for its small-town charm, friendly residents, and strong sense of community. It is home to several local businesses and restaurants, and hosts a number of events throughout the year, such as the Four Seasons Festival and the Iowa Renaissance Festival.
