Higginsville, Missouri is a small town with a population of approximately 4,500 people. It was founded in 1869 and named after its founder, Harvey Higgins. The town is known for its historic architecture, including several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. One of these buildings is the Higginsville Habilitation Center, a state-run facility for people with developmental disabilities. The town also hosts an annual fair in the summer and has several parks for outdoor recreation.
