One fun and verifiable fact about Pevely, Missouri is that it is home to the "World's Largest Diesel Engine". The engine, which is on display at the Jay Dee Industries facility in Pevely, weighs over 400 tons and has a length of 44 feet. The engine was built in the 1970s and was used to help power large ships. It was later acquired by Jay Dee Industries and has been on display in Pevely since 2004.
