Sea Breeze was once a popular seaside resort for African Americans during the era of segregation. Despite being relegated to less desirable, less expensive land than white-owned oceanfront property, Sea Breeze thrived as a tight-knit community with plenty of clean, safe beaches and a wide range of summer activities available to visitors. Today, Sea Breeze is recognized as a historic landmark and is home to a vibrant community of year-round residents.
